Memories Lives Forever

One day I asked my son. “Hey buddy your birthday is coming up do you have any plans? He said, “I wanted to go to the water park.” We picked the LEGOLAND Water Park as our destination.
However, his birthday fell on a Sunday, which was usually my “me time.” It’s that one day I cherish for myself, far away from the hustle and bustle. But, this day it was all about my son’s happiness.

As I was sitting watching him till I nodded off he came to me shouting. Mom! thank you! and he went back to the water. Therefore I closed my eyes and nodded off again. I hear another voice. Mom! thank you for taking me here I truly enjoyed it. His words were infused with gratitude and pure love. These moments of connection with my son were priceless treasures I couldn’t trade for anything.

He grabbed my hand, “Mom, let’s go to the waterslide!” Even though I am looking forward to my peaceful day of relaxation, I found myself willingly in his world of adventure. We braved rides that drenched us with water, and with every splash, my senses came alive. I was reminded that life’s true joys often lie in embracing the unexpected.

I wanted to be present for every second of this adventure. Watching my kid have so much fun made my day. He’s such a sweet, fun, and caring little guy.

He kindly invited me, “Mom, want to slide with me?” How could I refuse? As we stood in line, he playfully proposed a wager, “Let’s make a bet. If you scream, you owe me $1, and if I scream, I owe you $5.” With a chuckle, I agreed.

He had this strategy for sliding – he said to close my eyes, hold my breath, and forget about screaming.

It worked like a charm. So, when the red slide came along, I was ready. But then, claustrophobia hit me out of nowhere. Still, I didn’t want to lose the five bucks, so I toughed it out.

My kid’s laughter echoed all around as he beat me in slide after slide.

As the park was closing down, we decided to have a final showdown. I was determined to win this time. With all my might, I slid down that slide, shouting, “I won, I beat you!” His laughter was the sweetest victory.

From that moment I realized that what truly mattered was not the rides or the slides. It was about the shared laughter, the little chats, and the unbreakable bond between my son and me. The park was closing, but our hearts were full of happiness, love, and connection.

We shared laughter and heartwarming conversations. I also recognized the unburdened joy of youth, a quality we sometimes forget as adults.

I understood that this day had become a treasure of love, laughter, and precious memories.
The joy of being a child again, shared with my beloved son, taught me that life’s most beautiful moments are often found in unexpected places.
